Safety And Security Coordinator Job Description
Action provides services to various industries such as Oil and Gas, Forestry, Mining, and Private Sector.
All of Action’s Safety and Security Coordinators (S&S Coordinator) possess Occupational Health and Safety Certificate or relevant experience.
Action’s Safety and Security Coordinators’ primary responsibilities are to provide on-site first aid, assist with safety and to provide an element of security for facilities and well sites in remote locations. Our personnel aid in the implementation of on-site safety standards. They assist the Prime Contractor Representative in developing the safety contingency plan including: documentation, communication, and testing.
Safety and Security Coordinators have all the duties of a first aid attendant with additional duties including:
Main Duties
- Ensure all personnel entering the site have completed company orientation and can clearly demonstrate understanding of company policies
- Identify and document all site-specific hazards
- Complete all site specific documentation including job safety analysis, pre job hazard assessment forms as required
- Ensure workers have valid certification for entry on to the site
- Check MSDS as required
- Track all incoming and outgoing personnel through the approved sign in-sign out procedure
- Ensure all personnel are wearing their Personal Protection Equipment
- Check all personnel on the job for medical conditions
- Maintain Evacuation Lists; ensure updated lists are posted in predetermined area daily
- Check Job Safety Analysis of all services entering the site; notify consultant if not compete or inadequate
- Ensure that all workers have reviewed and signed the Pre-Job Hazard Assessment form; once all workers have signed, take the completed form to the consultant for the final signature
- As time permits review all Job Safety Analyses, they are located in the doghouse
- Ensure there is an Emergency Response Plan (ERP) written and posted in the medical/safety and security trailer
- Ensure there is an Emergency Transportation Plan (ETP) written and posted in the assigned well site trailers
- Attend safety meetings and take notes
- Hold safety meetings as appropriate
- Review the on-site binder as time permits
- Any reasonable requests from the client or consultant
- Other duties as assigned
Employment requirements/Qualifications
- Occupational Health and Safety Certificate or relevant experience
- Occupational First Aid Level III (OFA3)/ Emergency Medical Responder (EMR)/Primary Care Paramedic (PCP)
- Valid H2S Alive
- Valid class 5 (or better) driver’s license
- Clean drivers abstract
